A 200-som note from the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated 1997. The front shows the state emblem, with its rising sun, wreath of wheat and cotton, and a mythical bird, surrounded by star-shaped tile motifs. The back shows a striped tiger-like beast with a radiant sun on its back, set against Islamic geometric tilework. This image comes from the tiled facade of the Sher-Dor Madrasa on the Registan in Samarkand, built in the 17th century.
