A 200-hryvnia note from the National Bank of Ukraine, of a design introduced in 2007; this example is dated Kyiv, 2011. The front shows the poet Lesya Ukrainka (1871 to 1913) in an embroidered blouse, with a building and lines of her verse behind her. The back shows the entrance tower of Lutsk Castle, captioned on the note, with a stork in flight. Lesya Ukrainka is one of Ukraine's most celebrated writers, and Lutsk lies in Volhynia, the region of her birth.
