A 50,000-lira note issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in 1989, under the legal clause of Law No. 1211 of 14 January 1970. The front shows Mustafa Kemal Atatürk beside geometric tile-like patterns. The back shows the Grand National Assembly building in Ankara with a flag flying, alongside a monumental sculpture group. Atatürk opened the Grand National Assembly in 1920, during the War of Independence.
