A 20,000-lira note issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in 1988, under the legal clause of Law No. 1211 of 14 January 1970. The front shows Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with stylised floral ornaments. The back shows the Central Bank's modern high-rise headquarters building in Ankara, set behind landscaped grounds. Notes of this size were introduced as inflation in the 1980s steadily reduced the value of the lira.
