A 20-rouble note from the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan, dated 1994, from the country's first rouble series. The front shows the state emblem, with a crown, stars and ears of wheat and cotton, beside ornate floral panels. The back shows the parliament building in Dushanbe with the national flag flying above it. Tajikistan's own rouble circulated from 1995 until the somoni replaced it in 2000.
