A 500-pound note issued by the Central Bank of Syria in 2013. The front shows the Damascus Opera House, labelled on the note, with ornamental street lamps in front. The back, captioned 'oldest musical note', shows a scene of women musicians with a lyre and bowls, taken from an ancient mosaic, together with a cuneiform clay tablet. The tablet refers to the Hurrian hymn found at Ugarit, among the oldest written music known.
