A 20-rand note from the South African Reserve Bank, issued in 2005 and signed by Governor Tito Mboweni. The front shows the head of an African elephant with a small herd in the bush, together with the new national coat of arms adopted in 2000. The back shows open-cast mining machinery overlaid with diamond-shaped motifs. This issue updated the 1990s 'Big Five' design, adding the new arms and bank names in further official languages.
