A 500-tolar note from the Bank of Slovenia, dated Ljubljana, 15 January 1992. The front shows a portrait of the architect Jože Plečnik (1872 to 1957) in his wide-brimmed hat, alongside a pair of compasses and architectural motifs. The back shows his National and University Library in Ljubljana. The tolar was introduced in 1991 after Slovenia's independence from Yugoslavia and was replaced by the euro in 2007.
