Issued by the Banco Central de S. Tomé e Príncipe under the decree of 22 October 1996, this note shows Rei Amador, leader of the 16th-century slave revolt, together with a native bird and the national arms on the front. The back shows a coastal scene with palm trees, and the note was printed by Thomas De La Rue.
