Issued by the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, the note shows Admiral Miguel Grau, naval hero of the War of the Pacific, beside the Peruvian coat of arms, with fishermen hauling nets and fishing boats on the reverse. It belongs to the late soles de oro series, issued during the high inflation that led to the currency's replacement by the inti in 1985.
