A 1 rupee note from the Nepal Rastra Bank, issued in 1974 early in the reign of King Birendra. The front shows the king in military uniform and cap with glasses, beside a tiered pagoda-style temple and a golden statue of a bull. The back shows two deer leaping in front of snow-capped Himalayan peaks, with the national coat of arms and a carved pillar. Birendra reigned from 1972 until 2001.
