A 1 dinar note from the Central Bank of Libya, issued in 2004 under Muammar Gaddafi, who led the country from 1969 until 2011. The front shows a portrait of Gaddafi wearing a traditional headdress, beside Arabic inscriptions and geometric rosettes. The back shows a large mosque with a dome and two tall minarets, framed by borders of Islamic geometric pattern.
