A 50 livres note from the Banque du Liban, part of a long-running series issued between 1964 and 1988 and printed by Thomas De La Rue. The front shows the Temple of Bacchus at Baalbek, one of the best-preserved Roman temples, with its surrounding colonnade. The back shows a group of traditional stone buildings with arched windows, palm trees and a tall pine, with older fortified walls rising behind.
