A 20 kip note issued by the Pathet Lao, the communist movement that controlled much of Laos before taking power in 1975. The front shows a scene of daily life, with women and villagers working around baskets, bowls and grinding equipment. The back shows workers forging metal in a workshop, with the That Luang stupa in Vientiane in a decorated panel at the right. The design is framed by traditional Lao ornament.
