A 10 tyiyn note issued in 1993 by the Kyrgyz Republic as part of its first national currency, introduced after independence from the Soviet Union. The front shows an eagle with outstretched wings in a circular frame, with the value 'Он тыйын'. The back shows the sun and crossed-lattice tunduk (yurt crown) from the national flag, within traditional Kyrgyz ornament. The som, divided into 100 tyiyn, replaced the Soviet rouble in May 1993.
