A 1945 note, inscribed in Japanese as Imperial Japanese Government paper money and dated Showa 20, rather than a Bank of Japan issue. The front shows the torii gate and hall of Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, with a bird in flight and the imperial chrysanthemum crest. The back shows a mountain view framed by lathe-work and the numeral 50. It was printed in the final year of the Second World War.
