A post-war Bank of Japan note from 1946, issued as part of the new yen notes that followed the currency reform of that year. The front has ornate scrollwork and a central lathe-work panel with the value in Japanese characters, the imperial chrysanthemum crest and red seals. The back is printed in blue-green with the value in both Japanese characters and Western numerals.
