A small post-war Bank of Japan note issued in 1948. The front shows a spray of plum blossom beside the value in Japanese characters, with a red bank seal. The back is printed in orange with NIPPON GINKO and 5 SEN in Roman letters. Rapid post-war inflation soon made the sen almost worthless, and sen denominations were withdrawn from circulation in 1953.
