Issued by the Banca d'Italia from 1979, this note shows the Renaissance painter Antonello da Messina, based on a portrait in his own style, with the bank's winged lion seal. The other side shows Gothic architecture, an equestrian statue and a sculpted fountain with figures. The lira was replaced by the euro in 2002.
