A 100 rials note from the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran, issued from 1985 until the mid-2000s. The front shows a portrait of Ayatollah Hassan Modarres, the cleric and parliamentarian who opposed Reza Shah, beside a geometric rosette. The back shows a modern multi-storey building with a tall sculpted column, the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis) building in Tehran. Modarres died in internal exile in 1937.
