A 1000 rupiah note from Bank Indonesia's 2016 series (Emisi 2016). The front shows Tjut Meutia, the Acehnese heroine who fought Dutch colonial rule, with the Garuda Pancasila emblem and a map of Indonesia. The back shows a performer of the Tifa dance in a feathered headdress, beside a view of Banda Neira with its volcano, both named on the note. Each note in the 2016 series honours a different national hero.
