From Bank Indonesia's 1959 flower and bird series, dated in Djakarta on 1 January 1959 and printed by Thomas De La Rue. The front shows a wreath of flowers with ornamental borders. The back shows two pairs of white cockatoos with crests perched among foliage. In August 1959 the government sharply devalued the larger notes in circulation in an attempt to curb inflation.
