A uniface 10 million mark note issued by the Deutsche Reichsbahn, dated Berlin, 2 September 1923, at the height of the hyperinflation. The text in Gothic script says it will be accepted as legal tender at all cash offices of the Reichsbahn and must be redeemed by 31 December 1923; it carries the seal and signature of the Reich Transport Minister. The German railways printed their own money in 1923 to pay wages and suppliers when the Reichsbank could not print enough.
