Wartime emergency money (Kriegsgeld Notgeld) issued by the Bavarian city of Straubing and dated 1 October 1918, with the front showing the city's Gothic Stadtturm (town tower) between ornate panels, designed by Edmund Senft. The back carries the denomination within floral scrollwork and states that the note is valid only within the city district until 1 January 1923; as local Notgeld it has no Pick number and is catalogued in specialist German emergency-money references.
