Notgeld (emergency money) issued by the town of Pössneck in Thuringia, printed by Johannes Arndt of Jena. The front shows the crowned town arms with a black lion amid ornate scrollwork, and the back depicts women at the fountain in the Marktplatz. It was part of the colourful collectors' series notes produced during Germany's post-war currency shortage.
