A colourful Notgeld (emergency money) note from the Pomeranian town of Penkun, dated 1 May 1921 and signed by Mayor Wefelscheid. One side shows Penkun Castle framed by farm implements and a sheaf of corn, and the other shows a view of the town beneath its red griffin arms. It belongs to the many collectors' series notes that German towns issued during the post-war period.
