25 pfennig
City of Monschau · Germany · 1921
A Notgeld emergency note issued by the town of Monschau in the Eifel, dated 1 July 1921 and valid until 1 January 1922, signed by the Bürgermeister. The pictorial side shows half-timbered houses 'Am Markt' with a verse praising the town's old houses, corners and lanes. It was one of the colourful town notes popular with collectors during Germany's post-war small-change shortage.
