25 pfennig, monument
City of Hohenfriedeberg · Germany · 1920–21
Notgeld cheque-style note issued by the town treasury of Hohenfriedeberg in Silesia (now Dobromierz, Poland), showing the Protestant church on the front and the obelisk monument commemorating Frederick the Great's victory at the Battle of Hohenfriedberg in 1745 on the back. Emergency money of this kind was produced by German towns after the First World War and is catalogued in specialist Notgeld references rather than by Pick number.
