Germany · 1922
A Reichsbank 1000 mark note dated 15 December 1922, showing a portrait after Albrecht Dürer, overprinted in red 'Eine Milliarde Mark' in 1923. The overprint revalued the note to one billion marks during the hyperinflation of the Weimar Republic.
