An emergency (nécessité) note issued by the chambers of commerce of the Région Économique du Centre, covering towns such as Clermont-Ferrand, Riom, Thiers, Aurillac and Montluçon, to ease the post-First World War shortage of small change. The reverse shows a view of Clermont-Ferrand with its cathedral and factory chimneys, and states that the note was to be exchanged for Banque de France notes before 1 August 1924.
