Chamber of Commerce of the Deux-Sèvres · France · 1920
An emergency note issued by the Chamber of Commerce of the Deux-Sèvres (Niort) under its deliberation of 13 November 1920, part of the third series and printed by B. Arnaud of Lyon and Paris. The back shows a winged caduceus flanked by a female sower and a labourer, and states that the note should be redeemed before 1 January 1924; local notes like this were issued to ease the shortage of small change after the First World War.
