Chamber of Commerce of Dieppe · France · 1915–20
A First World War emergency note issued by the Dieppe Chamber of Commerce, showing the arms of the Ville de Dieppe within a ribbon and wheat-sheaf border, printed by Richard of Paris. The back explains that the Banque de France handled the circulation and redemption of these notes, and such local chamber of commerce issues filled the wartime shortage of small change. These issues are listed in the French Jean-Pirot catalogue rather than given Pick numbers.
