50 francs
France · 1978
The front shows the 18th-century pastel portraitist Maurice Quentin de La Tour against the Palace of Versailles, and the back shows his portrait again beside the town hall of Saint-Quentin, his birthplace. This Banque de France design circulated from 1976 until it was replaced by the Saint-Exupéry 50 francs in the 1990s.
