A Revolutionary assignat for vingt-cinq livres authorised by the law of 6 June 1793 (Year II of the Republic), backed by confiscated 'Domaines nationaux' and bordered with Republican emblems and the warnings that the law punishes counterfeiters and the nation rewards informers. The blank reverse shows the two blind-embossed seals, and the overissue of such notes led to severe inflation in the 1790s.
