Banque de France 100 francs note showing the Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix with a detail from his painting 'Liberty Leading the People' on the front, and a further portrait of Delacroix on the back. This long-running design circulated from 1978 until it was replaced by the Cézanne 100 francs in the late 1990s, ahead of the euro.
