A small currency note issued by the Arab Republic of Egypt under Law 50 of 1940, signed by the Minister of Finance rather than the central bank. The front shows the Great Sphinx with the pyramids of Giza behind it. The back shows the Muhammad Ali Mosque at the Citadel in Cairo. These government notes were used for small values alongside the larger notes of the Central Bank of Egypt.
