Issued by the Banco Central de Cuba, the front shows a portrait of Ernesto 'Che' Guevara and the back shows him cutting sugar cane, captioned as the forerunner of voluntary labour. The 3 peso denomination, unusual in world currency, became a popular souvenir because of its Che imagery.
