A 5 jiao note dated 1980 from the fourth series of the People's Bank of China. The front shows the profiles of two young women in traditional dress representing China's ethnic minorities, one wearing an elaborate silver headdress, set against patterned borders. The back carries the national emblem in a golden roundel flanked by geometric textile-style panels, with the bank's name in Pinyin and minority scripts. The fourth series was issued from 1987 and finally withdrawn in 2018.
