A 10 riels note of 1987 issued by the People's Republic of Kampuchea, the state established after the fall of the Khmer Rouge in 1979. The front shows the national emblem and workers tending tall pepper plants, framed by carved mythical lion figures. The back shows a school building with pupils assembled before a raised flag, set among palm trees. Its riel was reintroduced in 1980 after money had been abolished under the Khmer Rouge.
