From Brazil's cruzado series, issued in 1987, showing the novelist Machado de Assis, with a 1905 street scene in Rio de Janeiro on the back. In 1989 notes like this were overstamped as 1 cruzado novo, which is why other copies in this collection carry a stamp in a triangle.
