Issued by the Banco Central do Brasil in the 1970s and early 1980s. The front shows Marshal Floriano Peixoto, Brazil's second president (1891 to 1894), in uniform within a round medallion. The back shows the twin towers and domes of the National Congress in Brasília, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, with the caption Congresso Nacional, Brasília. Both sides carry a vertical band of fine lines. Rapid inflation in the 1980s soon pushed this value out of use.
