100 cruzados novos
Brazil · 1989
The front portrays the poet Cecília Meireles with a handwritten extract of her verse, and the back shows a whimsical scene of children reading and playing, reflecting her children's poetry. The note was issued by the Banco Central do Brasil during the short-lived cruzado novo currency of 1989–90, introduced amid hyperinflation and soon replaced by the cruzeiro.
