Issued by the National Treasury of the United States of Brazil in the early 1960s and printed by the American Bank Note Company. The front shows President Getúlio Vargas, named beneath the portrait, between ornate panels of the value. The back, printed in green, shows an allegory of national unity (Unidade Nacional): a kneeling muscular figure with tools and machinery, and factory chimneys behind. Vargas led Brazil for much of the period from 1930 to 1954.
