Part of the 1992 animal series issued by the National Bank of Belarus in its first year of independence. The front shows a brown bear walking beside a square of traditional folk ornament. The back carries the Pahonia, a mounted knight with raised sword and a shield bearing a double cross, which was the national emblem until 1995. These early notes were nicknamed 'bunnies' after the hare on the 1 rouble.
